Andy Murray has got a massive offer to play at Wimbledon 2025 after Emma Raducanu turned him down as a mixed doubles partner in 2024.

Murray was denied a final appearance at the All England Club after Raducanu controversially withdrew out of their first-round encounter on Saturday.

The 37-year-old British tennis star competed in the Championships for the final time before retiring this summer, joining up with his brother Jamie in the men’s doubles, where they lost their first match on an emotional night in SW19.

Due to a back ailment, he was unable to play in the singles and instead joined mixed doubles alongside Raducanu for one final send-off before she abruptly changed her mind.

Murray won’t be able to participate at Wimbledon again after Raducanu‘s cruel call unless he changes his mind and returns the following year.

When questioned about the Serbian’s comments, British sports legend Novak Djokovic did not seem to rule out doubles in 2025.

Murray was predicted to do precisely that. Ashleigh Barty, the 2021 Wimbledon winner who is now covering the Championships for the BBC, has now proposed to partner with Murray in doubles until 2025.

‘Maybe Andy will play in the invitational with me here next year,’ Barty told The Express. ‘Andy has had an incredible career, I have so much respect for him.

‘He deserves all of the accolades he receives. He has done so much for our sport. Personally, Andy has always been very kind to me. I value our friendship.’

In an emotional speech on Tuesday, Murray told his adoring fans that he would love to continue on the ATP Tour but his body simply won’t let him do it.

‘It is hard, because I would love to keep playing but I can’t,’ Murray said about his upcoming retirement.

“It’s just too hard physically right now.” As I mentioned before, the total number of injuries has increased and they are not trivial.

I wish to play for eternity. I adore playing this sport. I’ve learned a ton of valuable things from it throughout the years that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

It’s difficult because I don’t want to stop. Murray will compete in his last singles match in the 2017 Olympic tennis tournament in Paris, which takes place from July 27 to August 4.
