Daphne van Domselaar, a goalkeeper from the Netherlands, has joined Arsenal from Aston Villa.
After joining Villa from Twente in the Dutch division, Van Domselaar played in 14 league games and kept two clean sheets until suffering a hip injury in March that prevented her from playing the entire season.
The 24-year-old stated that she could “win trophies and achieve big things” at Arsenal, calling it “the right place”.
Van Domselaar competed for her nation in the Women’s World Cup of 2023 as well as Euro 2022.
A “strong addition” to their team, the goalkeeper would be a “delighted” addition to Arsenal, according to manager Jonas Eidevall.
He continued: “She is a top goalkeeper and already has considerable experience on some of the biggest stages, while we believe she has a great deal of potential for future development, too.”
The Gunners were third in the Women’s Super League the previous season; they did not reveal the duration of Van Domselaar’s contract.
