After departing Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a swift return to coaching, and he most definitely won’t be England’s next manager.

The 57-year-old eliminated himself from consideration at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg. He was not thought to be on the FA’s shortlist.

After leaving Liverpool after almost nine years in May, Klopp was asked what type of employment chances his adviser Marc Kosicke had been presenting to him. He said, “Nothing at all.” Regarding work, nothing at all. No nation, no club. That passage must have escaped the ears of some.”

Following Gareth Southgate’s departure, the moderator brought up alleged interest from England, the eventual winners of Euro 2024. Klopp said, “That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said, ‘I’ll make an exception for you.’

Although Klopp has said he is still not sure if he wants to manage again, he will definitely be involved in football in some way.

“I will work at something,” he added. “I’m too young to just play padel and only spend time with my grandchildren.

“Will it be coaching again? I would actually rule that out at the moment. We’ll see how things look in a few months. Right now, nothing is coming through.”
