In order to acquire Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund, West Ham has agreed to pay a sum of £27 million.
The 31-year-old, who joined the Bundesliga team in a £12.6 million transfer last summer from Werder Bremen, ended as the team’s runner-up in the Champions League with 15 goals in 46 games in his debut season.
Despite not starting a game, Fullkrug scored two goals to help his country, Germany, advance to the quarterfinals of the 2024 European Cup.
On Saturday, Dortmund announced that they had given Fullkrug permission to go from their Swiss training camp in order to speak with an undisclosed team.
The Hammers are in the market for a striker and have also held negotiations for Aston Villa’s Colombia forward Jhon Duran.
New boss Julen Lopetegui has already signed Wolves captain Max Kilman for £40m, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham from Sheffield United and Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme for £25.5 from Palmeiras.
The Hammers are also interested in signing full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United and Leeds United’s Dutch forward Crysencio Summerville.
