In the men’s doubles in Paris, Matthew Ebden and John Peers overcame Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram of America after trailing a set and a break.

This allowed Australia to win the gold medal in the Olympics. They won 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-1) 10-8 on their fourth match point in the first-to-10 match tie-break.

Peers, who previously partnered with Jamie Murray of Great Britain in doubles, adds a gold medal to his Tokyo mixed doubles bronze with Ash Barty.

The 40-year-old Ram, who has four Grand Slam doubles titles with Briton Joe Salisbury, was denied his maiden Olympic gold.

Australia emerged victorious in the opening of their four medal matches on Saturday at Roland Garros.

China’s Zheng Qinwen will take on Donna Vekic of Croatia for gold in the women’s singles, while the bronze medal winners in the men’s singles and men’s doubles will also be decided on the Paris clay.
