Aaron Anselmino, a defender for Boca Juniors, has officially joined Chelsea for a fee of £15.6 million.
The 19-year-old has agreed to a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge, but as part of the deal, he will spend the 2024–25 season on loan with the Argentine club.
He made his Boca debut in June 2023 and has since made ten appearances.
In January 2024, Anselmino agreed to a contract extension that bound him to the team through 2028.
This summer, Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, Omari Kellyman, Filip Jorgensen, Marc Guiu, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall were all added by Chelsea as a result of their aggressive transfer activity.
About £90m has been recouped through the sales of Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson while Conor Gallagher is expected to join Atletico Madrid.
The Blues are in the market for a striker and are keen on Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion.
Chelsea start their 2024-25 Premier League campaign against champions Manchester City on 18 August.
