Gabriel Jesus booked for reaction to Yerson Mosquera’s bizarre bum grab

Late in Arsenal‘s victory over Wolves on Saturday, there was an odd incident when Gabriel Jesus received a booking for his response to Yerson Mosquera grabbing his bum.

Thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, the Gunners won the game 2-0 and got off to a great start at the Emirates this season.

Jesus entered the game late and was the victim of a bizarre decision made by the Colombian international in the 88th minute. Jesus did not start the game.

Mosquera rushed across from in front of the Brazilian striker, putting his foot back on, and grabbed his behind in an attempt to move him aside so that Wolves could get a free-kick.

Understandably the Arsenal man was not happy about it, jumping up and pushing the Wolves defender away.

Mosquera fell to the ground and Jesus was booked as a result, which he could scarcely believe given there was a pretty good reason for him reacting as he did.

Jesus protested to referee Jarred Gillet but to no avail, while Mosquera escaped without punishment.

Other than this very odd incident it was a good day for the Gunners, as they also avoided a scare for key midfielder Declan Rice.

The England international limped out of the game late on, replaced by Jesus on 85 minutes, but Mikel Arteta later confirmed that he was just suffering with cramp.

There will be a tougher test for Arteta’s side next week as they go to Aston Villa on Saturday after the Villains impressively beat West Ham away on their season opener.
