Brajan Gruda, a Germany Under-21 international, was acquired by Brighton from Bundesliga side Mainz for a fee of £25 million.
After agreeing to a four-year contract with Brighton, Gruda, 20, is excited to work with Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler.
He made 28 appearances after breaking through with Mainz in the previous season, helping the team to stay in the top division.
“I saw the big impact he made last season in the Bundesliga and he’s a player I admire a lot,” Hurzeler stated.
Before missing out due to injury, Gruda trained with Germany’s senior squad ahead of Euro 2024 and was expected to be called up. He had been strongly linked to a transfer to Bayern Munich.
He has played for Germany at all youth age groups from the age of 15 and has made seven appearances for the under-21s.
