Viljami Sinisalo is Celtic’s first summer signing, having joined from Aston Villa for an unknown price.
The 22-year-old Finland international, who has signed a five-year deal, spent 50 games on loan at Exeter City last season and previously played for Ayr United.
He told the Celtic website that “it feels amazing” to be part of the squad’s pre-season tour to the United States.
“I know Celtic is a huge football club and it’s really exciting to be part of something so big,” he told reporters.
Before Euro 2024, Sinisalo played in a 2-2 tie with Scotland at Hampden.
In an effort to replace the retiring Joe Hart, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is also anticipated to rejoin with 37-year-old former Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel later this week.
Regarding Sinisalo, Rodgers remarked, “He is a keeper with real qualities and someone we have been aware of and monitored for some time.”
“Clearly, we have been looking to develop our goalkeeping team and we are really pleased to have secured one of the talented keepers we really wanted.”
