Before the summer transfer window ends, Chelsea hopes to make a huge deal for Jadon Sancho of Manchester United.
After a highly publicized conflict with Erik ten Hag last season that saw the winger banished from the first team and placed on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho has now put the past behind him.
Sancho has played a major role in the preseason, but he may be moved before the end of the month.
The 24-year-old has attracted the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, but sources from Germany now indicate Chelsea is prepared to fight.
The Blues are willing to give two academy players plus a transfer fee, according to fussball.news.
Another proposal would see Chelsea offering to take Sancho on loan, paying his entire salary which is thought to be near £300,000-a-week. That deal would also include an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
United have in the past been linked with a move for Trevoh Chalobah, who has now been frozen out of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge.
Sancho meanwhile was thought to be eager to join PSG if an offer is forthcoming this month.
The former Dortmund star featured throughout United’s pre-season campaign and came off the bench in last Saturday’s Community Shield clash with Manchester City – missing from 12 yards in the decisive penalty shootout.
While he is among the players United will listen to offers for as they attempt to raise further funds for incoming business, ten Hag has said they are back on good terms.
‘We spoke well,’ ten Hag said during the summer. ‘Everyone can make a mistake. If the player reflects on this well, you draw a line and move on.
‘This club needs good players, and one thing is certain: Jadon Sancho is a very good player. I hope that we will still click and that he will contribute to our success.’
