Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund winger, is reportedly being courted by Chelsea, according German media.
The 22-year-old started on the left wing in Dortmund’s Champions League final loss to Real Madrid last month and scored five goals for the team in the previous campaign.
Bild claims that Adeyemi’s performances have piqued Chelsea‘s attention, and the club has already contacted the player’s representation to explore a potential summer transfer to Stamford Bridge.
According to the source, Chelsea and Dortmund are going to have direct discussions, but Juventus will be competing with them.
Dortmund are said to be demanding a €30 million (£25.3m) transfer fee for the winger.
Adeyemi scored the winning goal against Chelsea in the first leg of a Champions League knockout tie in February 2023 and Jude Bellingham praised his then-Dortmund teammate after the game.
‘We are really confident when he gets the ball one on one,’ Bellingham said.
‘Not many players can stop him. He had a tough time coming here at the start, finding his feet, and now he’s flying.’
The first team of Chelsea returned for preseason training this week, and new manager Enzo Maresca has emphasized the need of giving his players the “right mentality.”
Upon joining a club, Maresca stated, “you try to analyze what the club and team needs to improve and do the right things.”
“It’s evident to me that we must establish the proper mindset and culture as soon as possible—a culture in which the supporters can take pride.”
“We need to build this bond between the supporters and the club, especially at home,” the squad said. “We’re going to try to be an aggressive team on the ball and off the ball.”
