Derek Chisora, who shocked Joe Joyce on Saturday night, has announced that he will fight in Manchester in December.
Prior to his fight with Joyce, Chisora had said that it would be his final appearance at The O2.
And in the tenth round, the 40-year-old put on another outstanding performance, dominating Joyce before winning by unanimous decision.
Chisora has now won back-to-back bouts for the first time in five years, with two judges scoring the bout 96-94 and the third, 97-92 in his favor.
“I have two more fights ahead of me,” Chisora declared following his victory.
‘Nah, this is not my last fight. It’s my last fight in The O2 Arena, so now I go to Manchester end of the year in December.’
Joyce, meanwhile, faces an uncertain future as his record is now blemished with a defeat to Chisora and back-to-back losses against the formidable Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang, who knocked out Deontay Wilder last month.
Speaking after his defeat to Chisora, Joyce was adamant that he wanted to get back in the ring.
‘Well, I don’t know if I’m done yet. Do you want to see more of me?’ asked the departing crowd at The O2.
After the crowd cheered, Joyce added: ‘Well there you go man, I’m still pretty fresh.’
Meanwhile, the fight’s promoter Frank Warren warned that such a gruelling fight ‘will catch up’ with both Chisora and Joyce, who turns 39 in September.
‘I’ve got to be honest, I never thought this fight would go the distance, I really didn’t.
‘And it tells a lot bout the both of them. The fact of the matter was it was a close fight, it was those last two rounds.
‘We’ll sit down and talk to them to see where we go.
‘That was a brutal fight and those fights, at the end of the day, they will catch up with you.
‘You’ve got to think about it, both of them.’
