After parting ways with Molly-Mae Hague, Jake Paul took a jab at Tommy Fury, his former boxing opponent.

The engaged pair, who first connected during their 2019 Love Island appearances, declared their split last week, following a five-year marriage.

Paul and Fury have been bitter enemies for a long time. Their fights have mostly taken place on social media throughout the years, with a potential in-ring match scheduled for March 2023.

With both men having perfect records before to the opening bell, their intense and personal rivalry reached a breaking point in Saudi Arabia.

Fury, half-brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson, secured a split decision win that night and remains the only man to have beaten Paul.

A highly-anticipated rematch has still not materialised with Fury fighting KSI last October before undergoing hand surgery at the start of the year.

Paul meanwhile bounced back with four straight victories and is now gearing up for a huge showdown with ring legend Mike Tyson which will be broadcast live on Netflix in November.

Despite the staggering 30-year age difference between the two, the bout is expected to be one of the most lucrative in boxing history with Paul revealing Fury was initially approached for the fight on the streaming platform – only to turn it down.

Paul spoke to reporters at a Professional Fighters League media event this week and initially sympathised with his old foe, who celebrated the birth of his first child with Hague last year.

‘I don’t want to dive into someone’s personal life like that but I hope they’re figuring it out and they figure it out with the kids and everything but I’m still going to beat his ass as a single father,’ Paul said, The Sun report.

But Paul was unable to hide his grin when asked if Fury has ‘devalued’ himself in recent times, aiming a swipe after the well-publicised breakup.

‘He definitely continues to devalue himself over time, saying no to the Netflix opportunity was probably the dumbest thing a boxer in history has done,’ he continued.

‘Like you literally turned down the biggest platform and now he’s got caught cheating and got divorced and now he is a single father.’
