Kurt Zouma, the captain of West Ham United, is closing in on a move to the United Arab Emirates.
Shabab Al-Ahli, a company located in Dubai, and Zouma have been in negotiations; a transaction is anticipated to be finalized in the next few days.
One year remains on the 29-year-old’s contract at London Stadium, making him one of the top paid players for the Hammers.
Since joining West Ham for £29 million from Chelsea in 2021, Zouma has made over 100 appearances for the team. In 2023, he started the Europa Conference League final triumph over Fiorentina.
After Declan Rice left to join Arsenal at the beginning of the previous season, the Frenchman was chosen club captain.
In 2022 he was ordered to carry out 180 hours of community service after pleading guilty to kicking and slapping his cat.
West Ham have spent more than £100m so far this summer following the appointment of Julen Lopetegui as manager.
Max Kilman, the former Wolves captain, has joined in a £40m deal alongside moves for Dutch forward Crysencio Summerville, Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug, Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme and Argentina midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
