Liam Rosenior, a former manager of Hull City, has been named manager of the French club RC Strasbourg.

The forty-year-old was fired in May after Hull missed the play-offs, after leading the Tigers to seventh place in the Championship the previous season.

Patrick Vieira, who departed Strasbourg on July 18 with mutual consent, is replaced by him.

Rosenior stated: “I am happy to join Racing, a historic French club, with supporters renowned for their passion and loyalty.”

“I will do everything to make the [Stade de la] Meinau proud of its team and its players,” he said, according to the website of Strasbourg. I am eager to start working.”

The Alsace club are owned by BlueCo, the company run by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali which also owns Chelsea.

Strasbourg finished 13th out of 20 teams in Ligue 1 last season.

Club president Marc Keller said: “We are pleased to welcome Liam, a young coach recognised for his ability to make his teams play well and to help his players progress.”
